Korea FAQ answers the practical questions people have about living in and travelling around Korea: visas and the Residence Card, health insurance and taxes, banking and phones, and the seasonal festivals and trips that are hard to research in English.

Why this site exists

Most official information in Korea is published in Korean first, and English pages are often shorter or updated later. Many English articles still quote old fees and rules. We read the Korean primary sources — ministry notices, HiKorea, the National Health Insurance Service, the National Tax Service, local governments and festival organisers — and turn them into one clear answer per page.

How we write

  • Each guide focuses on one question and gives the answer near the top.
  • Fees, dates and rules come from official sources, which are linked in the article.
  • Each guide shows when it was last checked. When a rule changes, we update the page.
